There is nowhere quite like Dartmoor and this small book of walks, from just 1 mile to 6 miles in length, is a wonderful introduction to all that Dartmoor has to offer with rivers, woodlands, picturesque villages, heather clad moors, granite tors and wide open spaces. Detailed walking directions are given for each and these are accompanied by photographs and a map of the route. John Noblett has provided information about the history, landscape, folklore and legends associated with each for extra interest. 

It is not easy to choose just 20 walks to be included but they are selected to show the diversity of the landscape which makes Dartmoor what it is today.
